About the Artist

I was born in Forsyth, Georgia; a rural town in the very heart of the state. Though as a child, my family and I moved throughout the Eastern United States. This afforded me the opportunity of meeting, knowing, and appreciating the palette of the cultural elements of the people and the landscapes of both. It was in the urbanism of Charlotte, North Carolina where I was first introduced to the arts: symphony, theater, and fine arts (painting, sculpture, and photography), and I knew I wanted to become a part of it.

I attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where I received a B.A. in fine art with a concentration in painting and a M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education. I am now living in Chatham County, and I reside on Wilmington Island.

I began painting at the age of 13. My primary mediums are acrylic, watercolour, gouche, and oil. Initially, my paintings were mainly still lifes, landscapes, and pet portraits. Gradually, they have become more abstract. No matter what the creation, I am in the act of making art.
